Alex McLeod is the violist of the Ton Beau String Quartet and the Centre Director for Sistema Toronto in Parkdale. Alex recently completed his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Toronto, where he studied with Steven Dann. He also holds a Master of Music and an Artist's Diploma from the Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe, where he studied with Johannes Lüthy, and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Toronto, where he studied with Katharine Rapoport. Alex has worked as a private violin and viola teacher since the age of 17, and currently serves as a board member of the Ontario Strings Association. During his studies at the U of T, Alex worked as a teaching assistant in the chamber music program, coaching student ensembles, and served as the studio assistant for Eric Nowlin and Katharine Rapoport.
